OK...this is pathetic, but I just finished reading the most recent posts of my Ozone colleagues and I seem to now be suffering from comment envy.

I really do hope to hear from all of you out there in the Ozone blogosphere. Please feel free to share your thoughts, ideas and stories of what you and your team are out there doing in your communities.

Leyla,

Comments come by way of controversy in the blogosphere...okay not always, but if you did a post on the recent lawsuit at WalMart and equated the settlement as charity instead of settlement...or someting along those lines...you'd get some comments; trust me.

Okay, I know that's not gonna help ya.

Stop by and read my latest Blog About Prague. Maybe that'll help ya. (Okay still, probably not.)

Dave

Thanks Dave for tying to boost my morale!  I appreciate hearing from you. :) Leyla

Just because you don't have comments doesn't mean that you are not being read. Somethings resonate with people more. I read all the blogs and I have tried recipes from Rocktuckey Chef. I go to the liks and etc but I don't usually have a lot of time to write. What Dave said is true, either comments are usually something controversial or it hits something that people are really into at that moment (like selling ribbons, prices, tools, websites etc).

Dear Leyla,

It would be really great if the corporation could also lift its ban on IBOs to fundraise with products just as it has expanded retail of certain products to vendor events. it's difficult to write about causes we are part of since we're not necessarily allowed to be philantropic in our efforts due to that fundraising guideline the corp sent me earlier. i personally work for a great nonprofit but unfortunately according to your rules and regs, i can't claim that any profit from my biz sales will benefit this organization. churches, community-based organizations and other nonprofits are always looking for partners willing to give a little extra time as well as treasure to their cause. any chance that there could be some leniency granted on the corps's fundraising restriction?

My understanding is that there are legal issues in each state related to advertising the sale of products for the purpose of supporting a charity. When we launched the Beauty Begins With Heart program we had to register with different authorities in each state so that they could monitor that we actually were contributing the amount we claim to Easter Seals. I'll check into what else may have resulted in the establishment of this rule. Thanks for the comment.
