Drink Kahve Help People
Thursday, December 20, 2007
It seems as if I'm developing a reputation as a coffee snob. Frankly, I drink one cup a day so I want it to be nice and rich. I don't want to be able to hold the pot up to the light and see clearly through to the other side. Yet, I also don't like Starbucks, which to me seems to be a bit bitter or acidic or something.
I have, however, developed a fondness for our Kahve Growers First Organic Dark Roast. Yes, it is a mouthful, yet it's also a mouthful of deep, rich, yet incredibly smooth, roasted coffee goodness. Better yet, when you buy a pound of this particular blend of Kahve you're supporting the farmers and families who grow the beans. For each bag purchased a donation is made to Growers First, a non-profit organization that "equips isolated indigenous family farmers to undertake long-term economic and community development..."
Growers First has many programs within the communities from which they purchase coffee beans. They help through:
- Food and Medical Aid
- Agricultural Consulting and Education
- Leadership Conferences
- Outreach Missions
- Micro-Finance
- Environmental Planning and Organic Certification
- Building Partnerships with Other Missions, Aid Agencies and Local Governments
Who knew that helping people could be as easy as enjoying a cup of hot coffee?
